Sue Hinchcliffe

Mrs Sue Hinchcliffe – Practice Manager

Sue Hinchcliffe has been our Practice Manager and Personal Assistant since 1997. Before this, she worked as a medical secretary in Plastic Surgery at the Christie Hospital. She has also worked at the Faculty of Art and Design and the Sports Centre of Manchester Metropolitan University, and was a Senior Clerk for the Royal Bank of Scotland. Sue will normally be your first point of contact.


Sister Sudha Fannon

Sister Sudha Fannon – Plastic Surgical Nurse Practitioner

Senior Sister Sudha Fannon has been working in our department since 1989. Prior to joining us she was a midwifery sister at Stepping Hill hospital. She assists Mr Murphy when consulting and visiting pre- and postoperative patients on the ward to help them through their stay. She is responsible for most of the postoperative dressing changes and advises patients, keeping in touch with them after their discharge from the hospital, giving them support and advice as necessary. She has also undertaken extensive training with non-surgical treatment and runs her own practice for Botox and Restylane fillers from the BUPA Manchester Hospital.


Simon Maguire

Dr Simon Maguire – Consultant Anaesthetist

Dr Maguire qualified from the University of Manchester and did his postgraduate training in anaesthesia in the UK and New Zealand. His is a Consultant Anaesthetist at the University Hospital of South Manchester and Christie Hospital NHS Trusts where he specialises in anaesthesia for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, particularly head and neck cancer work, which he undertakes with Mr Murphy. He is also a Tutor for the Royal College of Anaesthetists and oversees the training of Anaesthetic Registrars in the North West. He has an active interest in research and teaching and specialises in obstetric anaesthesia.


Nick Wisely

Dr. Nick Wisely – Consultant Anaesthetist

Dr Wisely is a Consultant Anaesthetist to the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Trust and Spire Hospital Manchester. He is an honorary lecturer at the University of Manchester where he is involved in teaching medical students. After qualifying from the University of Edinburgh he undertook his postgraduate training in anaesthesia in Edinburgh, New Zealand and Manchester. He specialises in anaesthesia for vascular, head and neck, plastics and breast surgery. He also researches pre operative exercise testing and runs the South Manchester Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Clinic.
