About James Murphy
BackgroundMr Murphy graduated in 1992 from medical school and embarked upon his surgical training. In 1996 he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, in recognition of having completed his general surgical training. He then undertook his training in plastic surgery working in prestigious units both in the UK (Oxford, Salisbury, Stoke Mandeville and London) and abroad in the USA and Australasia. In 2001 he was awarded the higher postgraduate degree of Master of Surgery (ChM) for research carried out during his time at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckinghamshire. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery, (FRCS (Plast)) in 2002.
QualificationsMr Murphy is a fully accredited plastic surgeon and, as such, is entered into the General Medical Council (GMC) specialist register for plastic surgery. He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). He currently holds an NHS Consultant post at Christie Hospital, Manchester. Mr Murphy has published comprehensively within the plastic surgery literature throughout his career and has presented his work internationally at plastic surgery conferences. He is actively involved in teaching both undergraduate Medical Students and postgraduate Plastic Surgical Trainees. |
