Mr Goodwin graduated from St Barts Medical School in London in 1999 studying medicine as his second post graduate degree.
He trained as a plastic surgeon and subsequently an aesthetic surgeon in the South West of England, the USA, Manchester, Chester and has worked in many of the hospitals of the Greater Manchester area offering high quality local plastic surgery to the wider local population.
He was awarded a Masters Degree at the University of Louisville in the USA after a prestigious plastic surgery research and surgical fellowship lasting 2 years back in 2007
He went on to train in Manchester for the next 6 years and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal College of Plastic Surgeons in 2012.
Mr Goodwin is on the specialist register as a fully-trained Consultant in Plastic Surgery.
Subsequently Mr Goodwin has worked as a Consultant in a number of NHS hospitals in Greater Manchester including UHSM, MRI, Trafford and Oldham offering a comprehensive range of facial plastic, reconstructive and skin cancer surgery.
He also travels annually with a local charity to Anandwan India to perform facial reconstructive surgery in one of the most underprivileged areas of central India.
Mr Goodwin has published extensively on a broad range of topics in the plastic surgery literature and has presented papers and national and international Plastic Surgery conferences. He has trained with leading cosmetic surgeons in Manchester, London and the USA..
For 6 years, he ran his own independent facial aesthetic practice, alongside his NHS practice. In 2016 Mr Goodwin committed to a career in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and joined Mr Murphy in full-time practice, specializing in all aspects of surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation.
